Assessment Officer
Role Responsibility
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Kent’s Front Door Out of Hours Service, and we are seeking to recruit to our highly motivated, friendly and supportive Team!
The Out of Hours Service provides essential Social Work cover for children and adults across Kent and Medway. The role of assessment officer provides a unique opportunity to broaden knowledge and skills within a social care environment, as well as offering an alternative to standard day time working hours.
The successful candidate will have the skills to support the team to manage and respond to complex and urgent cases. They will respond to enquiries from members of the public and professionals and provide advice where appropriate, record and share information accurately with the ability to recognise and report urgency and risk, and assist with the arrangement of temporary or emergency support where this is required under the direction of a Team Manager/Duty Senior.
Contracted hours will be worked across a rota period.
We are therefore looking for an assessment officer who;
• Is able to work evenings, nights, Weekends and Bank Holidays.
• Is committed to maintaining high standards.
• Is resilient, flexible, adaptable, forward thinking and positive about improving services outside normal working hours.
• Is able to work at speed and under pressure.
• Is competent in and committed to the use of Information Technology.
• Has experience of or is interested in broadening their knowledge and skill base to incorporate working with Adults.
• Is looking for a change from the 9–5 routine and new challenges.
• Is able to cope with the demands of shift working outside of usual office hours.

Applicants are required to be educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
