Area Schools Organisation Officer - North Kent

Role Responsibility

Flexible working, office based, and home based, with the requirement to travel to schools and other locations around the County.

Office Base: Worrall House, Kings Hill.              

Working with the Assistant Director Education for North Kent, the main focus of this role will be to support him in leading the commissioning process to plan and secure high quality school places across the area covering Dartford, Gravesham and Sevenoaks. The role encompasses all phases of education, including special schools and PRUs.

The team that this post sits within, is also seen as a first point of contact for schools in the area.  Therefore, this role will offer exposure to an exciting and varied range of other issues relating to schools, education providers and the local authority which may include, buildings and site issues, school organisation and emergency planning and resilience.

In this role you will be able to demonstrate your proactive and reactive skills in providing excellent service and support to education providers by building effective working relationships with colleagues across the county council and with partner agencies and stakeholders.

You will need to communicate and work with MPs, KCC Members, District and Borough Councils, parents/carers and a broad range of professionals within the education system, particularly Headteachers, with whom you will support the Assistant Director in building successful relationships.

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational, communication and written skills as well as an ability to analyse, manage and present information and respond to complex and time-sensitive queries.

Reporting directly to the Assistant Director Education for North Kent, you will be joining a team of people who are committed to the provision of the highest standards of education to the children and young people of Kent.
