Area NQSW Supervisor

INTEGRATED CHILDREN’S SERVICES

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Area NQSW Supervisor covering West Kent. You will be supporting and assessing a cohort of Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs) to successfully complete the Kent County Council (KCC) Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme. This role is to ensure a consistent approach to the support being offered to NWSWs within KCC in terms of case load management, embedding the Kent Practice Framework and development opportunities across the County in order to support recruitment and retention.

 

The successful candidate will work in partnership with Team Managers and ASYE Practice Educators to provide additional reflective supervision, guidance and support to NQSWs to complete their assessment, whilst working within KCC ASYE guidelines and to ensure the Record of Support and Progressive Assessment and Critical Learning log are completed.  You will have at least 2 years social work experience and be able to demonstrate a comprehensive and up to date understanding of all relevant legislation, regulation and guidance. You will have a recognised social work qualification, current registration with SW England as a registered Social Worker and a Practice Educator Professional Standards Stage 1 Practice or working towards Stage 2.

 

The position will be based within Maidstone Children’s Social Work District however you will be supporting NQSWs across the West Kent area. 

 

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification

 

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.
