Archive Digitisation Assistant
Role Responsibility
The Kent Archives and Local History Service has a vacancy in a small friendly team responsible for scanning historic archival material. The role involves the use of a Bookeye Professional overhead scanner to take digital images of unique historical records, and the accurate processing of the images, from capture to storage.
We are looking for someone with a methodical, meticulous approach, the ability to maintain concentration while operating repetitive procedures to a high standard of accuracy, the capability to troubleshoot and resolve problems, and the manual dexterity to handle fragile and ancient documents safely and securely. An interest in history would be an advantage, but is not essential. If you think you have these aptitudes and skills, and are looking for a digitisation post with a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
The hours for the role are 37 per week, worked from Monday through to Friday inclusive. Further details may be found at Cantium (recruitmenthub.solutions) where applications for the post should be made.
This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
We hope to arrange interviews for Tuesday 3 September.
