Apprentice Participation Worker

Role Responsibility

An opportunity has arisen for 4 Apprentices to join the Youth Justice Service within Integrated Children’s Services. There is currently a vacancy in each of the following areas:

North Kent – Gravesham, Dartford and Swale

West Kent – Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge & Malling, Sevenoaks and Swanley

South Kent – Ashford, Dover and Shepway

East Kent – Thanet and Canterbury

This is a great opportunity to gain a Level 3 qualification in Youth Support Work whilst working for a large, diverse, rapidly changing organisation.

As the apprentice youth justice participation worker your role will be assisting in the support and development of children and young people, at risk of involvement with and/or subject to supervision by Kent Youth Justice service.

Working across Kent, with the Youth Justice Teams and other Early Help initiatives, this role is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to use their skills and experiences to help other young people. This will include supporting young people in a group or one to one setting and capturing the voice of young people to help with service design and delivery.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
