Apprentice Participation Worker

Role Responsibility

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice to join the Virtual School Kent’s Participation Team within Integrated Children’s Services.

This is a great opportunity to gain a level 3 qualification in Public Service Operational Delivery whilst working as an Apprentice Participation Worker in a large, diverse, rapidly changing organisation.

The Participation Team has responsibilities to support and encourage meaningful participation and engagement of children and young people who are in care, young care leavers, and others who come under other specified cohorts across Integrated Children’s Services in CYPE.

This new role will support the work of the Participation Team to ensure that young people who have a Social Worker views and feedback are front and centre in everything we do through a variety of media platforms.

You will have a keen interest (professionally or personally) in film making, editing and assisting with producing social media content. You will assist in the production of material that will be used for training and information purposes. Training on this will be given.

This role requires an organised and caring individual with good communication skills, who enjoys interacting with children and young people. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.

Financial support or just a simple bursary to help with travel, clothing and equipment may be available through the Kevin Lynes Apprenticeship Scheme, for those who might otherwise be unable to take up an apprenticeship opportunity.
