Apprentice Administrative Assistant

Role Responsibility

Fixed Term  - 18 Months 

An opportunity has arisen for an apprentice to join the Strategic Commissioning, Department Business Support Team.  This is a great opportunity to earn a real salary and gain a Level 3 qualification in Business Administration whilst working for a large and diverse organisation.

The successful candidate will provide support to the wider Business Support Team by creating and maintaining spreadsheets and distributions lists, note-taking at meetings, collating data and securely sharing information.

We are looking for someone who is looking to develop their skills, and who has a keen interest business administration.

You would have an enquiring mind, excellent communication and organisational skills, and be able to interact positively and effectively with colleagues and professionals. You must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, and be reliable, flexible and resilient.  You will be supported by the wider team to gain skills and knowledge in a variety of administrative areas to support you in your apprenticeship and future progression.

We are looking for someone with the right attitude who is highly motivated, keen to learn quickly and who can execute tasks with accuracy. The post will be based at Invicta House in Maidstone, but the team are currently adopting a hybrid approach of working giving you the flexibility to work from home or other local offices.  The team usually meet in the office once a week.  Other times are dependent on specific requirements where support is required face to face or as part of the learning requirements.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.  

You must have been ordinarily resident in the UK, the British Overseas Territories, or Crown Dependencies (Channel Islands and Isle of Man) for at least the previous three years before the start of the apprenticeship. In addition, you must be able to commit to the full length of the programme and be able to meet the programme modules through your job role.
