Advanced Social Work Practitioner
Role Responsibility
Kent County Council are looking for an Advanced Social Work Practitioner to be part of an innovative service, improving the lives of individuals on forensic Mental Health Act pathways.
Set up in response to a pioneering programme and the Service works alongside Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust to support individuals on a forensic pathway in the community instead of in secure hospitals. This can improve quality of life, reduce inequalities and have a genuine impact on the lives of individuals, instilling hope and realising real change.
This is a rare chance to be part of this service and will provide opportunities to develop your skills and your career. You will lead with practice and supervise and develop a team of social workers and social work students. You will play a key role in the multi-disciplinary team delivering the Local Authorities statutory duties to support the transition of individuals out of secure hospitals into the community.
You will have experience in either mental health, learning disability or autism settings, experience of working with complexity and risk and you will be both a Practice Educator and an Approved Mental Health Professional. We are also interested in receiving applications from qualified Best Interests Assessors.
The service is based at the Trevor Gibbens Unit in Maidstone, Kent but you will be working across a wide geographical area so the ability to travel in a timely manner according to business need is essential.
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
Interviews will be held on Thursday the 8th and Tuesday the 13th of July 2021.
