This post is based at Kroner House, Ashford for our Careline team, and is vital to ensuring that the necessary business support is provided out of core working hours for Kent Enablement at Home (KEaH), to ensure that the services provided can by this team are maintained outside of normal office hours and the busy team can support as many adults as possible with short term enablement services in the community.

We are looking for motivated and proactive people, who want to make a difference to the community, within a team that work collaboratively with internal and external partners and focuses on promoting a persons independence. The successful applicant also needs to be flexible in their approach and ready to embrace new ways of working to help further shape our services.

This is an exciting and multi-faceted post involving regular use of computerised systems, recording, and relaying essential information as necessary within the team, accurate maintenance of records and great emphasis on working as part of the immediate and wider teams. You will also be in day to day contact with individuals using the service, or their families via telephone and e-mail so excellent communication skills are essential for this role alongside being able to exercise total confidentiality and the highest degree of tact and diplomacy in dealings with the person with support needs accessing the service and the enablement support staff working in the community, at times involving complex matters

Careline is operational all year round from 0630 to 0900 and 1700 to 2200 Monday to Friday and 0700 to 2200 Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

We are seeking an Administrative Officer to work 12.25 per week over a 4-week rota as follows:

Week 1. Tuesday– 17:30 - 21:00          Saturday 07:30 – 14:30     Sunday 07:30 – 14:30    

Week 2. Tuesday – 17:30 – 21:00        Saturday 07:30 –14:30       Sunday 07:30 – 14:30    

Week 3. Tuesday – 17:30 – 21:00         

Week 4.  Tuesday – 17:30 – 21:00         Saturday 17:00 – 22:00

There will also be opportunities to work additional hours to support maintaining the service at all times.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.

The ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is essential. You should note that public transport is rarely a viable option as some rural areas of Kent often have limited public transport.
