Administration Officer - West Kent South Adult Team

Role Responsibility

An opportunity has arisen to recruit an Administration Officer to the West Kent South Adult Team. The post-holder will provide administrative support to the Adult Social Care Team and assist in the smooth running of the service.

The Business Support Team makes up an integral part of the Adult Community Team within Adult Social Care Directorate in West Kent. Administration Officers are the first point of contact for professionals and members of the public and deal with a variety of enquiries of sensitive nature.

Administration Officers provide comprehensive support to a team of Case Managers and the Area Management Team undertaking a wide range of administration tasks. We are looking for someone who possesses excellent IT and problem-solving skills and has a confident telephone manner. You will be required to deal with highly sensitive and confidential information, take formal minutes at meetings and be able to resolve complex queries in a timely way. This is a challenging, varied and exciting role that requires you to multitask whilst working under pressure.

We are looking for someone who has excellent literacy, numeracy and computer skills and who can use a range of IT systems to ensure a high level of data quality. You will also need good organisational and administrative skills to be able to prioritise workloads and work to deadlines. You will need to be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, as well as professionally communicating with our clients, their representatives and other professionals by phone and e-mail. The ability to data input and cross reference accurately, are imperative to this role.

Kent County Council is moving towards providing a service between 8am-8pm, 7 days a week. The current hours for this role are 8.30am-5pm, Monday to Friday.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
