Administration Assistant

Role Responsibility

A vacancy has arisen in the Kent AMHP Service for an Administration Assistant.

The Kent AMHP Service is a busy team that provide Mental Health Act assessments across Kent; this involves working closely with our NHS partners to provide a 24 hour a day 365 days per year service.  We believe it is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate, as this is a complex and ever evolving service and you will need to be able to prioritise your workload and support others in the team where appropriate.

Your role will involve taking and screening calls into the service, completing referrals on our client based system and handing accurate information over to other members of the team to act upon. You will be required to coordinate and liaise with external agencies and staff as necessary and post or email out copies of client reports to GP’s. Therefore, you will need good IT skills and excellent attention to detail. 

You will be working with a variety of databases and computer systems, for which full training will be given. You will also need knowledge of confidentiality and data protection procedures. This post is critical to ensure the smooth running of administration support for the Service and you will also be providing assistance to the Senior Admin Officer with service delivery as required.

You will be given regular supervision, support and training to develop yourself within the role. The post holder will need to be flexible and innovative, bringing a range of skills and experience to help support the AMHP service and the fluidity of the organisation.

You must be able to travel on occasions, as meetings are held at different sites across the County. The post holder will be required to work Monday – Friday, with the potential of flexible working.

This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

Due to the current COVID position, any interviews will be set up to ensure adherence to government guidelines so may not be a face to face interview, details will be discussed with successful candidates nearer the time.
