Accountant Level 1

Role Responsibility

We are looking to recruit a KR9 Level 1 Accountant in Revenue Finance. The post is offered on a permanent, full-time basis (37 hours per week), in the 0-25 Team. The primary location for this role is Sessions House, although currently involves working from home with some office working as required at Maidstone. Both internal and external applicants are welcome.

The successful applicant will be Educated to NVQ Level 4 or equivalent (e.g. AAT), and/or proven ability to deliver the requirements of the post and experience of working in a financial setting. The role is responsible for providing financial advice, challenge and support to budget managers in the service delivery departments, working alongside team members to ensure efficient and consistent practices are in place.

You will have excellent spreadsheet skills (Microsoft Excel) and be a competent user of other Microsoft office software e.g. Word, Teams and Outlook. You will have good communication skills and experience of working with senior officers, Heads of Service, and budget managers.  You will have detailed knowledge of the processes for budget preparation, budget monitoring and budgetary control. You will be part of a team and will be expected to work alongside other accountants to achieve shared objectives.
