0 - 11 Family Hub Support Worker
Role Responsibility
Kent County Council is actively seeking to recruit a passionate 0 - 11 Family Hub Support Worker for Dover District in Kent in a permanent 1 FTE (37 hours p/w) role.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a Family Hub District team in Kent and help build and expand the offer of services for children, young people and families from 0-19 (25 years for SEND).
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- To operate as a Family Hub Support Worker within the Family Hub team in an agile fashion at a variety of outreach settings (including home visiting) within a district providing 1:1 and group support to young children and their families.
- Responsible for supporting improvements in outcomes for children through leading the delivery of play and learning opportunities across Family Hub sites, family homes, other community settings and outreach locations.
We value skills that can provide support and delivery for vulnerable children with Public Health initiatives, home learning initiatives, parenting programmes or workshops and targeted interventions. Support will strengthen the resilience and empowerment of children and their parents to build positive independent networks across communities.
The role is working in a variety of settings such as Family Hubs, Community Buildings, Schools, Homes and in a digital/virtual space to best meet individual, group, family and community needs.
The successful candidates for this role would possess a high level of organisational skills and have the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and self-directed. You will also be able to communicate effectively with children and their families, and have the ability to plan, deliver and evaluate effective interventions.
You will be expected to work flexibly across the 0-11 age range but may also be required to support work across the wider age range where needs arise in the district.
You will be expected to operate a Whole Family approach in their practice and work around the times of the Family. As such, this post will be expected to work flexibly including, on occasions, at evening and weekends, and will be co-ordinated by Management as required.
